Grant Hancock is the founder and chief economist at RAMP Economics. With over seven years of experience in the field of development economics, Grant has established a reputation of producing precise and insightful research into a range of complex issues affecting economic and social development. With a passion for economic development, Grant has consistently demonstrated the ability to blend the innovative with the practical to ensure economic development projects, and private sector business initiatives are designed and implemented in a way which respond to regional dynamics and operational challenges.
With a unique blend of experience that ranges from working with clients in the private sector to working with branches of Government; Industrial economic development projects to rural upliftment projects; and spanning numerous economic sectors and project types; Grant brings unique insights, and a well-rounded approach into every project.
Grant held the post of Senior Development Economist at Urban-Econ Development Economists, a South African consultancy firm operating across Southern Africa, until 2019 before establishing RAMP Economics in May of 2019.
Grant has a BCom Honours degree in Economics from the Nelson Mandela University, and a BCom degree in Economics and Business Management from the Nelson Mandela University.
